Kuleana Academy Alumni Represents at CNHA Native Hawaiian Convention On Maui 2023

 

We are always so proud seeing our Kuleana Academy Alumni out in the community spearheading multiple initiatives and engaging in positive change! Here we have KA Alumni Randy Gonce, Hawaiʻi Cannabis Industry Solutions and Maui County Council-member Keani Rawlins-Fernandez who spoke at the Council of Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Annual Native Hawaiian Convention in Maui on the same panel titled, “Future of Pakalolo in Hawaiʻi.”

ACLU Hawaiʻi is one of our community partners and was there were as well. Participants were there to listen and learn from the Maui community and others on pathways forward for Hawaiʻi and the lāhui. ACLU, KA Alumni, and other folxs all shared about the “Future of Pakalolo in Hawaiʻi” with guest panelists during our breakout session on this past Friday. Mahalo to the policy makers, advocates, and mahiʻai who joined in kūkākūkā about upcoming legislation related to legalizing cannabis, the criminal justice implications and potential benefits legalization has for our economy, for local mahiʻai, and for consumers and communities across the pae ʻāina.
