Mahalo for your public service, Representative Tina Wildberger!

Last week, South Maui State House Rep. Tina Wildberger announced she will not seek re-election. Rep. Wildberger, an alum of our very first Kuleana Academy cohort, has been a champion for the sustainable management of our natural resources and the working-class communities during her time in elected office.

Notably, during her tenure, Rep. Wildberger helped advocate to protect Na Wai 'Eha — South Maui’s water source — from landing in the hands of a private entity.

She also helped push to protect South Maui against the growing threat of the climate crisis and natural disasters. Over the years, she served on legislative committees that tackled some of South Maui’s most pressing challenges, including water, environmental protection and land conservation.

Rep. Wildberger, also a small business owner, has been a vocal advocate for raising the minimum wage to a living wage.

Our sincere gratitude to Rep. Wildberger for your community-accountable public service.

Congratulations on the meaningful contributions from your tenure in elected office.

The whole HAPA team wishes you the best in all your future endeavors!
