Join Us June 13th: Candidate Forums, Food Access & Mālama Kauaʻi's 20th Anniversary!
This is one of the most consequential local election years in recent Kauaʻi history... and we need you to be part of it!
This cycle, 4 out of 7 County Council seats are up for grabs, meaning more than half of the council could turn over in a single election. On top of that, for the first time in 8 years, Kauaʻi voters will elect a new Mayor.
The officials we choose will make real decisions about food systems and local agriculture, housing affordability, climate resilience, emergency preparedness, and the overall health and wellbeing of our communities. County government shapes who has access to land, how local farmers are supported, and how our island responds in times of crisis.
With only 7 people on the County Council, just a handful of elected officials can dramatically reshape the future of our island, for better or worse.
Alarmingly: recent local election turnout hovered around just 31%. That means a very small slice of our community is making decisions that affect everyone on Kaua'i. We can change that, starting June 13th.
